Refund policy

Last updated June 11, 2026

1. The free tier is the trial

We don't run a separate free trial on paid plans — the free tier is the trial. It includes 10 AI minutes per month and access to the full agent team, so you can run a real job before paying anything. If EditorBuddy isn't a fit, you simply never upgrade; there's nothing to cancel.

2. Monthly plans

Monthly plans are billed at the start of each billing cycle and are non-refundable for that cycle once billed. You can cancel anytime from /settings/billing — your plan stays active until the end of the current cycle, then doesn't renew. No partial-month refunds are issued for monthly plans.

3. Annual plans — 14-day refund window

Annual plans come with a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase or renewal. If you cancel within 14 days, we'll refund the full annual charge, provided you haven't used more than 120 AI minutes during that window (a reasonable-use limit to prevent the window being used as an unlimited free month).

4. Prorated refunds after the window

After the 14-day window, annual plans aren't refunded for unused time by default. If you're closing your account permanently for reasons outside normal churn — for example, an extended service outage on our side, or a billing error — email support@editorbuddy.com and we'll work out a prorated refund for the remaining full months on the plan.

5. Plan downgrades

Downgrading from an annual to a monthly plan, or to a lower tier, takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. We don't issue partial refunds for the difference in plan price for time already used at the higher tier.

6. AI minutes and overages

AI minutes included in your plan don't roll over month to month and aren't refundable if unused. If you purchase additional AI minutes beyond your plan's allotment, those are non-refundable once a job has consumed them, but are refundable if entirely unused within 30 days of purchase.

7. Failed or low-quality jobs

If a job fails due to an error on our side — the orchestrator crashes, a video worker fails, or output is corrupted — the AI minutes for that job are credited back to your account automatically, usually within 24 hours. This doesn't apply to jobs that complete but produce output you're simply unhappy with creatively; AI-generated edits can be retried or adjusted with a refined prompt at no extra charge within the same project.

8. Enterprise and custom contracts

Teams on a custom enterprise contract follow the refund and cancellation terms in that contract, which take precedence over this policy. Contact your account representative or sales@editorbuddy.com.

9. How to request a refund

Cancel or downgrade from /settings/billing, or email support@editorbuddy.com with your account email and the reason for the request. Eligible refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

10. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please reach out to us first — most issues can be resolved faster through support than through a card chargeback. Accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be suspended while the dispute is investigated.
